New Rx8 owner needing advice
Hi i just got a 2006 rx8 with 84,000 miles and I'm having trouble with the starter. It starts up cold well but it takes a while. It floods easy and takes a lot longer to start up when warm. I had the alternator battery and starter tested and they all passed although the battery is old an will need to be replaced soon. Also the alternator is slow and only putting out 3.6 rather than in the 4s. Could this be the problem or do i have a compression problem?

First, welcome...
Second, there could be a bunch of things. I suggest reading through the two threads in my signature. i am not sure about the alternator numbers, I have not seen 3s and 4s before.
I recommend the things in the Congrats thread as soon as you can. You may be amazed by what cleaning a few things will do.
And, once you do that, a compression test would not be a bad idea.

Welcome to the club man! It does seem like a compression issue. Hard hot starts are a classic symptom of it. I agree with RX8Soldier too. Check out what 04Green posted. Good stuff.
Good luck and keep us posted
