New to the RX8 fam
So, this girl purchased a 04 Automanual 4-speed RX8 a couple days ago. I love it but, not the place I bought it from. I got it for $8,959 for 68k miles. I don't know if that's good or bad but, I'm new to this rotary life. I could use some advice from other RX8 owners so I don't ruin my car in some way. I know you have to watch the oil levels closely and replace the oil filter every 1500-3000 or so. Is there anything that I absolutely need to know about RX8's?
A little stuck & confused over here.

No one else is going to tell you, but you paid a terrible price for the worst version of a bad car.
That being said, the thread above will go a long way in helping you, and the car is absolutely fantastic once you get past the "I have no clue how this thing works or how to take care of it" stage!

The automatics have a lower redline than the manual gearbox (auto tranny can't handle full engine power) Make sure to get close to redline in your car every so often (once the temp gauge is warmed up) Unfortunately I also believed you over paid, especially since it's an automatic with a weaker engine 4 port engine vs 6 port engine found in the manual tranny and 2006 and new autos. I got my 2004 RX-8 two months ago with 64,000 miles for $5500, however that was because I bought it from my Aunt (she bought it new) Mine also has some rust on the rear fenders (quarter panels) but it was driven all year round (snow tires in the winter) in New England weather. Lots of salt.
