new to the rotary life.
Just picked this up last month. Its been a blast to drive and im sure ill have fun modding it. Ive raised it a bit since these werre taken but the bumper is still off so i could get it on the alignment rack.
It has a borla catback on it
Turbo xs catless midpipe
BC coilovers
Kenwood double din
Viper remote start/alarm
Currently looking for a cobb ap to get rid of the CEL for rear o2. New rear tires are on their way.
Not sure where to go from here

Nice car. Great color, post some pics over in the winning blue thread. First thing I would do is add a black grill to that front bumper. Is it missing the plastic undertray? You may want to replace that as well as it is very functional for proper air flow. 25mm spacers would also make the stock wheels not look so sunken in.

Thanks guys. I was wondering about the under tray as I was reading about people filing gaps in the radiator to get all the air to flow through the radiator. Where would I be able to get one that will work with this aftermarket bumper or will the stock one work? I've been in those two threads a lot and I think there's a lot I need to do to this one to get it in tip top shape. Last tank of gas I got about 8.5mpg so this tank I'm taking it easy to see if I can break 10mpg lol. Have a feeling I'm going to be cleaning a lot of parts this weekend and possibly looking into replacing coils and spark plugs asap.
Im not sure if the stock tray would work, but it is worth finding out! You can buy one used from someone on here. You may just need to drill some holes in the bottom of the bumper for mounting. Its very important for proper airflow to the rad, overheating is a big deal!
Well I'm gonna order the aluminum one off eBay. Hopefully I can get it to work. I got a set of new tires and an alignment so that helps. Do you guys know what company makes the best replica Mazda speed front bumper is? I'm needing to replace mine because it's all cracked up from the previous owner.
All the legit ones are like 1200. Not doing that. Thats like a third the price i paid for this car. I wish i could get an oem one. Are they really discontinued? Is there a place to order a real one for less?
Muggin man ... I see undertrays on ebay for less than 200 .
I have the same Duaraflex front end and a stock undertray works . Have to drill some holes to add fastners .
My undertray has been repaired with a tote ;lid and pop rivets and Gorilla tape till I can afford a intact undertray
Nice car ...love the blue

What do I have to do to be able to post a WTB add in the classified section? I'm in need of a new front bumper but it won't let me post even though i've been a member for a while now. I know I haven't commented much because I just read but is that what I'm going to have to do is post ***** for a little bit?
Muffin,
You need to have at least 10 contributing posts and 30 days as an active member.
Please do not post bump, if your posts are not contributing to the forum they will be deleted.
After that, your "new member' Restriction will be lifted and you can post your WTB thread.

Do these posts in here count? I wouldn't assume they did count towards that so I guess I'll go and try to help as much as I can. I have learned a LOT over the last month of owning this.
This is what I've been dealing with lately and I must say. This car BLOWS in thick snow. Couldn't even play around. Starting to wonder if the front wheels are dragging for some reason because I couldn't get the bitch to move an inch on soft snow. Had to be hard packed with lots of salt or use a push from my wife. Once moving I was fine. Had to dig my whole alley way just to get to my house lol. But now I'm in desperate need of a new front bumper and I would love to get lucky and get my hands on an authentic MS front bumper.
Here are some pics for your entertainment

Got this installed and did a back up camera, amp and 10" sub along with a viper alarm and remote start all in a good days work.

Wow,
what is that white stuff all over the place..
Welcome.. I missed the question above on foam. The Congrats thread should tell you. (it is pipe foam from Lowes). It is much easier to do with the under-tray missing than with it in, just go to the other side.
If you have mileage like you indicated, I would suggest running through all the Congrats posts. then coils, plugs and wires.

RX8 Club’s recommended maintenance schedule, more comprehensive and proactive than Mazda's schedule.
30,000 miles:
- Replace Ignition coils
- Replace Plug wires
- Replace Spark plugs
- Clean MAF (mass air flow sensor)
- Clean ESS (e-shaft sensor)
- Reset ESS profile
- Clean power steering connections
- Clean battery terminals and clamps
- Replace transmission fluid
- Replace coolant (Mazda FL-22 is highly recommended)
- Replace air filter
- Replace brake fluid (fluid in the brake lines AND the clutch line)
~$300 USD in parts if you shop smartly.
every 60,000:
...all 30,000, plus...
- Clean all chassis electrical grounding points
- Replace accessory belts
- Clean OMP lines
- Replace rear differential fluid
- Replace thermostat
- Clean / Straighten AC condenser fins
- Clean / Straighten oil cooler fins
- Inspect catalytic converter
- Clean / Inspect intake valving
- Consider / inspect all points in 90,000+ as well, many items fail early
~$130 USD in parts if you shop smartly.
90,000:
...all 30,000, plus any 60,000 not yet done, plus...
- Replace coolant bottle
- Replace radiator hoses
- Replace radiator
- Replace front O2 sensor
- Replace motor mounts
- Inspect clutch pedal assembly for flex / weld breaks
~$900 USD in parts if you shop smartly.
At 100k, anything original in the cooling system is really suspect and failure prone. It represents the biggest threat to your engine.
