Whats the difference between the 4 port and the 6 port engine? How do i know which one i have? And what is the Renesis Engine? Mine is a 2004 Mazda RX-8. Im asking bc im looking at rebuild kits to get just in case this engine is ok to rebuild when it gets tore down.

 

I believe the 04/05 models equipped with the Automatic Transmission were 4 ports. These also produced 180-190HP or something, compared to the 232 with the 6 Speed Manual. This changed with the 06 models, where the Automatics were also 6 ports.

Correct me if I am wrong somebody.
