Just tried to install new Headlights onto my car and found that the Driver side headlight is missing the metal wire clip that holds the bulb in place. Does anyone know where i could possibly find that without buying the whole headlight housing?

Hey guys im returning with some updates on my RX-8. I've owned the car for about 5 months now and have had a fantastic experience with the car.

Here are some of the things that I had done on it:
Heat HVAC solder fix.
Power Steering contact cleaning
Aftermarket HU installed.
Motor oil and Transmission oil changed.
Spark Plugs and Ignition Coils changed.
Tail light reseal.
Carbon Fiber vinyl wrapping on a few pieces of the interior.
Fog lights and rewire completed.
Clear corners installed.
Aftermarket speakers installed.

Problems that I have run into and how i fixed it.
No Power Steering-> Cleaned the connectors.
No Heat-> Soldered the HVAC PCB board.
Blinking CEL -> New sparkplugs and Ignition coils.
Tail light had water-> removed and resealed.
Loose tie rod-> Pending tie rod swap and wheel alignment.

On another note, after buying the car I finally had the chance to get it professionally detailed. All of the previous owner's dog hair is finally out of the car's carpet. I'll attach some pictures.
Anyways, I just wanted to stop back to thank everyone on the forum for being such a great resource for this car. I have learned many things and am continuing to learn things about the car everyday. Most of the things problems that i have had were solved through traversing the forums and DIYs. There are definitely many things i wouldn't have attempted if it weren't for this forum.

Nice shape. Since the CEL light is on - do you know what codes are listed (using a OBD2 code reader)?

Have you had a compression test on the car? if so the results?

Don't remember what the CEL was but it was a misfire at redline. Never came back after i gave it a tune up.

I actually completely forgot about the compression test for my car. My family is in the car business and pretty much i bought this car from cheap and just kept it. Never experienced any problems minus that misfire at redline. I'm almost certain that my car's engine is good though considering it makes plenty of power and my mileage is 17-18/22 MPG.

I go to school in Buffalo so i take this car on those frequent 400+ mile drives. Nothing on my car raises any red flags. Only pending repair is the tie rod.

Is your cat glowing after driving it in a spirited manner? Need to pull those CEL codes using a reader. Free to rent at an auto parts store.

Hey man i think you're misunderstanding the reason why i posted. The CEL was a problem that i had in the past that has already been resolved. My cat is fine it was either my spark plugs being fouled or my ignition coils starting to die.

I posted back here to tell forum members of my good experience with the 8. All problems that i have had were easily fixed thanks to previous form posts. It helped me diagnose and take the proper actions in getting it fixed.

I think what Wankel is trying to tell you is that having had a CEL that indicated bad coils or plugs it would be prudent to check the CAT so as to make sure it has not overheated and melted internally due to running un-burnt fuel into it due to a spark miss and causing you further damage before it's too late to repair. Car looks good though, good luck with it.

Ahh that makes sense. I actually caught my misfire and gave the car it's tune up right after i saw it. Luckily my cat doesn't glow after a spirited drive. I was aware of the chance for a clogged cat from misfire. Car runs fantastic though. Thanks!
