New member who wants to sell

Hi, I have been a long time lurker and found this site incredibly useful. The DIY sections and general troubleshooting threads have been very valuable over the life of my RX-8.

But now, I'm looking to sell. I set up an account and tried to post to the regional sales board. I got a message about a moderator having to approve my post or something. I waited several days and still haven't seen it show up. Is there a way to alert moderators? Or is there a better way to list my car for sale on this board?

To post a for-sale ad in the classifieds you have to be a member for at least 30 days and have at least 10 posts.

Just post a bunch of stupid, nonsensical bs; it’s not like you’ll be around later and it’s expected from noobs anyway

It’s the only reason to have such a pointless rule; all they want is your post count because it otherwise doesn’t serve the excuse being used ...

Because someone like me that’s been on the web since mid-90s tries to join a forum just to help provide an answer to a question there that nobody else had the answer to, and I still get the bright green noob treatment to the point I said forget it and left before fully helping them out. Happened recently on a Lotus forum; first post went through and then every other attempt was waiting on moderator approval, which many days later was still hung up, but they also didn’t permit PM access. So no way post, no way to reach out to anyone, just hung out to dry. That’s just dumb, never bothered to go back ... but nobody died getting spammed. What a relief ...

The forums are so outdated and they are slowly dying... Activity is dwindling and admins are barely active. They basically just exist as an archive for info, and that info is so hard to find because of the archaic structure and search features as well as the mess of misinformation and BS posts & replies. So the issues you & I mention and we all experience are only going to get worse. This isnt isolated to rotary or RX-8 forums either, its widespread across all online forums.

Post bumping is against forum rules Team, you know this. Do not encourage forum members new or old to break forum rules. Thank you.

OP, Read this https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-f...rs-read-first/

Forums may be a thing of the past. But our forum still has quite a lot of traffic so i dont see us going anywhere anytime soon.

I'm not complaining or anything. I think this site is great and I used the DIY section a ton in the past. I learned a lot here!

I was just wondering if there was a way to get posts approved after moderation. I see there are ads (in the regional sales area) where the poster only has 1 or 2 posts. So I was just hoping that there was something that I missed other than a post count or time limit.
