NC New Member - Trying to get Powered Seat Info

Hi guys (and gals),

New member with the intent on getting some information regarding RX-8 Leathered Power Seats. I bought a powered seat with the intent of using it as a SIM Racing Chair, and wanted to use the power seat except I don't know how I would make the power seat work outside of a car. Does anyone have experience in this sort of thing? Or point me in the right direction? I do know that I have to by a 20AMP AC to DC power converter, and some how jerryrig it to fit the seat. I was hoping I could buy an adapter to simply attach to it without having to out any wires should I want to resell the seats, but if there is none, I can cut some wires. I did notice at the bottom of the seat there are two plugs: 1) one with just a red and black wire (I am assuming that is power and ground) but then 2) there is another one with many wires which had me confused. I figured those are the wires that make the seat move but somehow have to be connected, but I wasn't sure. I have also read that the seats may may have an air bag. And to be careful to not deploy those.

Anyways, if anyone has any more thoughts or ideas on how to wire it up for outside of a car use. Info would be greatly appreciated.

T

hanks,
Henry
