I live in the northern part of the front range and a hailstorm just took out my Lexus SC-430. It will likely be totaled so I’m in the market for a replacement. A rotary is on my car ‘bucket list.’ Local inventory looks a bit thin but of course that could change at any point. Anyway, here to learn so I’m ready when/if the right deal comes along.

Tough to say where one draws the line for "northern" front range, but I'm SW of Denver. I was very specifically looking for an S2 GT, and it took me nine months to find what I was looking for, and that ended up coming out of Washington state. If you're after an S1, you have more options, but still pretty thin compared to a lot of areas. Look wide. What are you looking for specifically?

I'm pretty flexible on the year and trim level. I'd love a manual but automatic is probably more practical for my situation. With that in mind, 2006 or later is preferred for the 6 speed. My main concern is that it's in good shape and was well maintained. This will be my daily driver so I don't want to take on too much of a project. Odds are what I'm looking for is not immediately available so I'll probably end up in something else (Mazda3? Juke?) in the short term. I can keep searching for the right RX-8 and be ready to move on the right deal.

Btw, I'm on the northern side of the Denver metro area.
