I've been lurking here for a while and I've decided to make an account. I've got plenty of questions and plenty of skills to help come up with answers for other people. I bought my RX8 about a year ago and I absolutely love it. It's a 2008 GT (I think) with the 6 speed AT and it appears to be fully loaded. Keyless entry, navi, etc. I'm starting to compile a list of mods that I intend to do, but more on that later. I'm 31 and I work as an engineer as a career and I live in the Pacific Northwest. Looking forward to meeting locals for sure and chatting about rotaries in this forum. My first ever rotary car was an '81 RX7 and I loved that car too.
Thanks! She's my baby and I try to take the best care of her. I've had her for about a year now so I'm about ready to do some mods. BHR ignition, BHR midpipe, Level 10 Torque converter and a shift kit are all going in before the end of the year.
Smart move on the BHR ignition and midpipe. I did those two mods as soon as my finances allowed and I'm pleased I did. I'd also recommend taking a look at the Sohn oil adapter. I've been modding my car with engine longevity in mind, and getting it burning 2-stroke oil instead of engine oil was at the top of my list.
Congrats..Awesoem 8 btw..
Yup..Im Loving my bhr midpie and ignition.. MY 8's acceleration has improved dramatically. Mine is 04 6spd MT.. I Agree with Buckshot, look into SOHN, mine is on the way.
All the best

Is that unit to replace the OMP so I can run 2 stroke instead of pulling oil from the sump? If that's the case it is something I'm definitely interested in because the mods I'm looking at are primarily to make the car run better and more efficiently, with the extra power as a bonus.
Yes, for the most part. you can even use synthethic oil in ur engine after installinga SOHN.. Also, look into Catch can, its another decent mod, prevents oil from goin into air box and throttle body..
Nice. 2 more parts for the list. The list started out small but it's growing pretty quick. At this point everything I want all together is just shy of $3k so I'm not really cringing at the cost yet. I figure $1500 by the end of the year is doable without pissing off my wife haha
hhaha I hear ya bro.. lol I ran into similar problems earlier this year and lost my cards to my lady after ordering bhr midpipe, ignition, rb sways and adjustable end links, oem appearance package, JDM trunk lip and slicone radiator hoses lol ran me about 4.5K.. I was about to order megan coils, and B&B exhaust oh well maybe next year haha..
I would suggest you start of with bhr ignition, midpipe and SOHN you'll have a blast, you'll feel the extra kick, smoother acceleration, and reduced maintenance cost.
Just my 2 cents

Daaaaaammmmn.... There is no chance of flying under the radar with $4.5k on the bank statement. Totally with it though. I've always said it's better to beg for forgiveness than ask permission. I'm right there with you on the pipe and ignition. The plan is to do the midpipe and ignition this summer. Then work on the transmission over the winter because the RX8 is garaged when it's raining and snowing (I drive an Eddie Bauer Explorer with a V8 when it rains and snows). Since I won't be driving it, the wait on the torque converter to come back from Level 10 won't be a big deal and it will give me an opportunity to install the carbon fiber driveshaft. Still looking for a shift kit though.
