I just got my 2005 Mazda RX8 back from the dealer. I thought for sure the engine was blown. P0301 check engine light. I have 173,000 on the original engine and just found out all it needed was new coils, plugs, etc. I thought for sure I'd have to put her down. Best, funnest, cockest (ok..grew up in the 60's and 70's) car I've ever owned or driven. I bought a Mazda MX5 RF 2 years ago and it's so tiny next to my RX8 but it's just not the same.

Just cleaned her up real nice and took her down some windy roads near the Missouri River. Aahhh. I think she needs some new wheels now.

Welcome to the forum!! Your 8 appear to be in amazing shape given the miles! Awesome to hear its on the original engine! How has the interior held up with the miles? I have several 8's with varying mileage and the interior condition varies. Seems to fall in line with how well the car has been maintained. I have an 88k mile 05 and the interior is very worn and on the flipside I have a 140k mile 04 and the interior is still very nice given the mileage. My 100k mile 04 that I baby has a near perfect interior.

Thanks! The interior is actually excellent except for the dreaded cracks on the dash above the glove box. Now that I have it back running great, I get to tweak it a little. I just replaced some of the interior bulbs with blue leds just because! New wheels are next.

It was 72 degrees here last night and it's 35 and snowing today so I'll have to wait to drive it again.
