I have not been on here for a while. Busy year. But here a quick update. Got the Tein installed and replaced the brake rotors and pads with StopTech today. Now waiting for the new rims. So far I am happy with the first impression on the Tein's. I only use it for street and its a good balance for me. They probably will settle a little more. Next photo will be with new rims/

That's the "plan". I used to have a one a few years back (2006 model) and enjoyed it. Had to refresh my mind about the little quirks. I do want to do a few things but debating where to start:
- need a new coolant reservoir, sensor is gone, looks easy to do just wonder about the purging of air (that's one thing I don't like to work on)
- consider to upgrade the ignition, just precaution. to BHR. Looks easy except getting to the plugs (wheel removal etc).
- new brakes aka rotors, pads, and SS lines (first thing for me is safety)
- consider to upgrade cooling system, maybe starting with a fan control kit upgrade, but that also requires getting into the cooling system to put the new sensor in?
- repairing the flickering LCD radio display, clearly a bad connection as I can make it work by tapping the top...until the next bump in the street.
- It has the bose system, but I am not much impressed, still wondering what the best path is w/o having to replace it all
- maybe cat-back exhaust and intake, just for sound and fun (not looking to gain power)
I like to work in cars and this is my father-son project until he graduates and leaves our home.

Plugs are tricky with my hands, but tire is easy to get off.
Lucky you; since you have the dreaded auto, you can put a tube and fin 18,800 auto trans cooler in place of the gravel guard near a/c condenser.
I took exactly 14 deg f out of auto trans (07 6 speed), since I have a laser temp gun, and sacnguage to check auto trans temp. I got scanguage codes off of Mazda 6 site.
On a 60 deg day, i can cruise 80 mph, and coollant temps and atf temps go below 179 dge f where thermostat is closing. I think your's has 4 speed auto and maybe 1 oil cooler so you really n3eed it. On hotest day I can cruise 100 mph and both temps 193 deg until I start reving around, and thwey'll go up as normal; like on track 109 deg f.
Brakes are really good stock, so if rotors aren't really mess3ed up I put Centric ceramic for long last, low dust, and low bite. Or Put semi metalic if you really wanna trow anchors.
