New to me 05

Just picked up a 05 RX8 with 71k miles. The owner said it has a problem with flooding and he was tired of dealing with it. It is in perfect physical condition and I got it for $1k. I tried doing the deflood procedure and cranked it over for 10 seconds. After that I pulled the key out and went in the house for a minute and when I returned a flashing light with a key was showing and it won't crank. I check the battery and it is only about 2 months old. Took it to get tested anyway. But I am kinda stumped at this point. Any ideas?

When you turn the key do the dashboard lights come on? Or what happens when you turn the key? Do you hear any clicking? Need more information about what is happening

When the key was turned all of the dash lights came on and no click when the key was turned. I was able to correct it by removing the battery charger for a few minutes. It only seems to happen if I have the charger connected while I am turning it over. After removing the charger for a few minutes it goes back to normal. Still not running yet, but that is my next one to figure out

It sounds like low compression. But, on another note - Which colour key are you using? Black with the remote or grey?

Yeah could be low compression, I have push started it once and it runs like a champ. But from the key not so much. The key is black without remote. I need to order a keyless remote for it

Mkah. I know the Grey key is like Valet or something ludicrious, basically stops kids that work at valet's from being stupid.

The grey key is the valet key, but it does not reduce engine performance. The grey key will not open the glove box and the trunk, but it will start the car.
