New 2005 owner - few niggles

Hi guys,

I have just bought my first RX8 – A 2005, 6 speed manual. I’m currently in NZ and I imported it fromJapan (bit of a logistical experiment really). Anyway first impressions are good, the car is fun and it’s good to havea manual again (had an E46 M3 SMG before this).

Anyway, got a few questions and niggles;

I have to push my clutch pedal right to the floor to changegear properly. It will crunch in 1stand 2nd at high RPM if I don’t really put my foot to the floor! In the past, to me, this indicates a newclutch? Anyway, it’s a pain. What I’ve noticed in about 2-3cm of free playof downward movement before there is any resistance from the clutch! Is this normal? I have read many posts about the rubbish clutchpedal but will this just be a case of adjustment?

There is a 20cm dent/scrape in the outer sill – will this bea difficult fix for a body shop for this car as it is part of the unibody?

The CD player wont accept CDs (it’s a 6 stacker) but there’snothing to eject

The steering wheel makes a noise at idle, I believe there’sa fix for this – just checking it is still valid?

Other than those things I’m pretty happy with it and it goeswell, and makes a nice sound (has some R magic exhaust thing on it)

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks.
