I'm going to try and explain it to the best of my abilities. I might be reading the results wrong but here you go. They added on the report " compression is very good' and "Good engine"
At 266 RPM
Rotor #1 8.8, 8.4, 8.3
rotor #2 7.9 , 8.1, 8.1
Those are good numbers.

A little over $100, I don't have the paperwork in front of me but I believe $115.00

Yup I sure did, drove it home the same day. Originally I just went to go take a look in person and do the compression test, but I just couldn't leave without it. I love my rx-8, the high rpm's, the handling (not so well in icy roads, now I know first hand) , love the sound of the rotary engine! Now I know what you guys mean by no radio, just enjoying the sound of the rotary engine.
Also of course, the looks! I've been getting compliments from all of my family that see's it.
I'm new with rotaries and have to admit, I'm a little paranoid. I just want to enjoy it for as long as I can.

Congratulations!
Keep researching, everything you need to know is here.
You probably know already, but jic, some of the most important points, premium gas every fillup, and keep your ignition system healthy.
I would also recommend inspecting your cat, as it's a critical factor in engine longevity.
Mine went bad at only 18k from misfires.
If you have an android phone, consider getting the Torque app & Bluetooth dongle.
Have fun!

Congrats bro! I wish you well

I don't have an 8 yet but the torque app And the 20 dollar Bluetooth adapter used in my other rides is seriously the best 25 I have ever spent! They could charge 20 for that app and it would be a steal.

All you need is a 20 dollar bluetooth adapter, a 5.00 app and a smart phone..
For anyone that isn't aware of them.

Bigcajun, I know it's a newbie question but im in the market for an 8 as a daily. The first thing I want to do I yank anything emission related. Any recommendations on test pipe methods to not throw a cel? And yes to other readers, I've been researching a lot but have read many mixed results. I just need no cel and I get through in NJ...No visual or sniffer. My methanol burning blown 08 z06 just flew threw inspection with no cel lol. You can bellow out obnoxious fumes as long as no cel

There are no midpipes or tricks to mask a CEL.
I have a BHR, & the CEL pops up every few days.
The only way that works as far as I know is with the Cobb AP which prevents the CEL.
Someone may correct me, but I 'm reasonably sure.
Good luck!

ECU flashes to turn off the CEL is the only way. MazdaEdit and AccessPORT are the two methods of flashing the ECU for series1, MazdaEdit only for Series2.

None of the historical or old school tricks work. It prevents P0420 (cat below efficiency), but our ECU is smart enough to know SOMETHING is wrong, so it will throw one of a number of other codes instead, typically Rear O2 response rate too slow for non-foulers or spacers, etc...

Thanks RIWWP,
To be clear, are AccessPORT & the Cobb AP the same thing, and work only for Series 1 RX8s?
I don't want to confuse the issue.
Thanks again.

How can I get the history of the car? Such as recalls that have been looked at? Any mazda dealership correct? I believe when I got the compression test done, they did tell me the cat was replaced recently. and what exactly is the torque app?
