Megan Racing VS TurboXS

So since I can only post here for now and I couldn't find a thread specifically for these 2 catback exhausts I decided to create one myself. I have looked at many exhausts and read about them and with my budget and all I have narrowed it down to these 2 brands.

I drive a 2004 rx8 6 spd MT and yes it is my daily driver. everything is stock besides my BHR ignition. Just put a Re manufactured engine in there. and YES in the very near future I will be buying a BHR midpipe but I wanted the catback first to avoid any warranty issues with deleting the cat. So ultimately which one is better, I do NOT like very loud ricey sounds I think that's very trashy. I like a nice hum. So I thought you guys could help me choose without bashing me.

The exhaust note is a very personal thing, no one can tell you which sounds better to YOUR ear.

Use Google to search this forum using the following search terms:

Using the above search format as a guideline you can find any information you might need on these forums.

I know but based off the information I provided what do you recommend for me? I like the deep smooth hum sound plus don't forget about the combo with the BHR Midpipe

I bought the Megan racing due to a clogged cat and broken weld on my muffler. I didn't have a grand to drop at the time but it came to a situation where I needed the cat removed and it was the cheapest route.

I'll be the first to say just don't do it if you enjoy conversation, hearing your music. And not pissing off the neighbors.

I will be getting a resonator from racing beat or magnaflow to replace the resonated section of the Megan racing mid pipe.

I, personally, like the sound of the stock catback with the BHR midpipe. Add the Racing Beat intake plus Ram Air Duct and your 8 sounds about as good as it gets. Our cars suck a LOT of air. The intake sound is probably more important than the exhaust. Certainly adds to the thrill of driving an 8.

Megan Racing makes **** products. Sound is subjective and listening to videos of all of the exhausts online is a waste of time, they always sound much different in person.

I have had the HKS Hi-Power and the Turbo XS is still on my car and still looks brand new many years later. I have the BHR midpipe and it sounds great, with the TurboXS midpipe it is way too loud.

MY car is turbo though so much quieter than an NA RX-8 will be. I have installed just about every exhaust out there for the 8 and for the money, the TurboXS is the best. If you have the cash, other great ones are exhaust kits from HKS, Racing Beat, Borla, and Greddy.

The Turbo XS is a true 3" exhaust, most advertised 3" exhausts for the 8 are not. But that is not a big concern for most, especially NA.

being an owner of the Megan racing kit I agree with this statement.

Personally I enjoy the racing beat the best. I don't think anyone will tell you that's a bad investment.

I mean the racing beat is in my budget but I thought to myself why drop the extra money when all you want is something that will turn heads. I don't want nothing fancy, so from what i've read I am going to choose the TurboXS I think its like $587 shipped on amazon, does anyone know what the warranty is for it?

Edit:

Does TurboXS have the burnt tips? I personally love the look of the burnt tips

Gonna cost way more if I get it from the site. I couldn't find the burnt tips on the site or amazon. And do you know what the warranty is on it?
