He told me He wants to keep it for a project he is planing to start next year. Makes no sense to me but I'm not complaining I purchased the engine this morning and the shop has already started working on everything since this morning so I'll keep you all posted on how it turns out. Thank you everyone for the information I've learned a lot and can't wait to fully enjoy my RX8.

The car was transported to the shop and compression tested before the purchase and we are all good!!! I'll have the car by tomorrow afternoon. The mechanics were asking to buy the engine off me because of how great the condition was.

Congrats. I hope the swap goes well. Please be sure to read the first $100 modifications and the new owners thread. You will want to keep the car in the best shape possible. It sounds like you got a second chance, make the most of it.

hey now..well, i'm here to learn and that i am...because i read somewhere that doing the apex seals was about the equivalent of doing a head gasket on a typical V8 motor, and actually easier being there are less parts.. glad I came here first...

It's a common misconception.

Sorry You had to find out the hard way about how much of a handful these cars can be to maintain. Use the Search tool and the New Owner adn DIY threads to make sure to make the car last.
