Bran, ^^^^

That link will have all the answers you need to make an informed decision.

The only thing i can stress is to get a compression test BEFORE you buy the car, ALSO, The dealership will want you to pay for this, tell them no since you dont know if you want to buy the car or not and they should have this information already available for the customer.

Private party deal=dealer will not cover cost for compression test. Still a must do before purchase of vehicle. You could ask the seller to cover cost and give you piece of mind. If seller refuses your on your own. Shell out the 100-150 bucks dealer is going to charge otherwise stay away and look for another vehicle. Research and decision is ultimately up to you. Hour this works in your benefit. Happy motoring

If you end up deciding to go with an rx8 please do you research on maintaining this vehicle. A lot of information on this club will help keep the life of your 8 an enjoyable one. It does take a lot of love in comparison to you average daily driver, but as you will find here, all of us would agree, the enjoyment of these vehicles far outweighs the maintenance schedule. Once behind the wheel you will understand! Nothing more than all of us would hate to see is an undereducated owner improperly taking care of the vehicle, just for it to end up in the hands of a junkyard. I can only imagine how many have already made it there. I love this car and never see my garage without it. Many cars WILL come and go, but this one will be with me forever!
