Does my 2004 have remote control door locks?
Like a key fob?

One didn't come with the car when we bought it, and I was wondering if it
has a remote for the door locks?

Here's the VIN, I didn't see anything about it.

pretty sure all RX8's had remote key entry. I know the key fob style changed from 04 to 05 (when it changed to the switchblade style) but I can't imagine they sold our cars without remote entry.
since you don't have any key fobs, it might be a bit expensive to get new ones programmed to the car.

hopefully someone with a bit more experience can chime in on what that would entail.

 

All RX8s have this.

You can buy the remotes and flipkey blanks on ebay. The flipkey is better. The programming seems to vary by dealer, call around for the best price. Could be 25, could be 100.
