Just joined the club

Hello,
I just joined the club after a few months of looking things over. I got my new (to me) 2008 RX-8 home tonight. I am very excited and look forward to getting everything just right with the vehicle. I've read all the new owner threads multiple times and then some. I would appreciate any advice people have for a new owner.
Thanks!

It's a stick, which I am still learning. It passed the compression test well with 68k miles but only ~5k on this engine. Everything is stock so at this point it's just a project for the winter. I have another vehicle I will be using daily since I put on about 60k a year and prefer to just avoid driving on salt at this time. By the time I made it home tonight my face was tired from the constant grinning. The sound the engine makes as you climb the tachometer is like nothing else.

Yeah, it's very addicting to rev it to redline. It's been almost a year and a half and it still feels awesome.

Stick shift can be daunting in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, it's hard to hop back into an auto. Watch some good videos online will likely help.

And remember maintenance before mods. Applies to any car out there.
