Just got Back from Mazda

I have a 2005 AT Rx8 with 68800 miles on it. I took it to Mazda to get it checked out because it has a slightly rough idle. It misfires at around 70 mph trying to shift from 3rd to 4th and has misfired in lower ranges occasionally. I attached two photos. One is what i had done to it when i got the car and the other was today's suggestions. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

I think you should have a look through the forum to see what others have done to fix those issues, without breaking the bank.
Those are common and fairly easy to do fixes.

Have you read the stickies in the "New Owners" forum? I recommend you do that.

I think you got raped.

You can replace all 12 ignition pieces in about an hours with simple tools, and that is if you don't know what you are doing. Parts are as cheap as $190 for EVERYTHING.

I can't imagine being willing to pay $1,550 for that.

That's why i avoid going to the dealerships because of the price they charge. If you have options rather than the dealership, then that is your bet, if not, that's the last resort you got.

I have looked through the forum. and yeah it's a lot of money but being in the navy with not much time to do it myself it was the only option I had. the ignition system is not the problem obviously. so should I just go ahead and get a new engine?
