Just bought 06 Shinka 46000miles
looking to see if anyone was in the Pittsburgh area. Trying to find people with others 8's in the area. Don't see many driving around. I'm in upper st Clair.
Been looking over the forum a lot and not many people talk about the turboxs exhaust. Was thinking of getting this exhaust and getting the high flow cat with resonator as well. Has anyone done this that reccomends or is against any info is good if you know of a thread link to one please post it as well for me to read thanks.

Welcome fellow Pittsburger! I've been seeing more 8's on the road lately with spring arriving, but doesn't seem like there are that many in these parts.

Welcome, Im from Altoona/State College area here, about 2 hours off of Pittsburgh. As for high flow cats, I was looking into catalytic converter threads a little while back, and (mods correct me if im wrong) what I found was generally speaking the high flow cats and really most cats for our cars don't last long unless it is the mazda OEM one, which is quite an expensive piece. Do you have sniffer tests with your inspections? If not, you may want to consider a midpipe or a gutted catalytic converter. These eliminate the possibility of catalytic converter failure, and give a slight HP boost from unrestricting air flow in the exhaust. BHR generally is considered to be the holy grail of midpipes, but there are plenty of threads explaining high flow cats, midpipes, gutted cats, etc and their benefits. A little bit of research and you can decide which option is best for you

I'm actually just going to be keeping the oem cat. We have emissions where I live and don't want to take that chance. So just going with a TurboXS cat back and aem cold air intake. Would be installed next week sometime.

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tro...t-here-222584/
https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-f...t-here-202454/
RX8 Club’s recommended maintenance schedule, more comprehensive and proactive than Mazda’s schedule.
30,000 miles:
- Replace Ignition coils
- Replace Plug wires
- Replace Spark plugs
- Clean MAF (mass air flow sensor)
- Clean ESS (e-shaft sensor)
- Reset ESS profile
- Clean power steering connections
- Clean battery terminals and clamps
- Replace transmission fluid
- Replace coolant (Mazda FL-22 is highly recommended)
- Replace air filter
- Replace brake fluid (fluid in the brake lines AND the clutch line)
~$300 USD in parts if you shop smartly.
every 60,000:
...all 30,000, plus...
- Clean all chassis electrical grounding points
- Replace accessory belts
- Clean OMP lines
- Replace rear differential fluid
- Replace thermostat
- Clean / Straighten AC condenser fins
- Clean / Straighten oil cooler fins
- Inspect catalytic converter
- Clean / Inspect intake valving
- Consider / inspect all points in 90,000+ as well, many items fail early
~$130 USD in parts if you shop smartly.
90,000:
...all 30,000, plus any 60,000 not yet done, plus...
- Replace coolant bottle
- Replace radiator hoses
- Replace radiator
- Replace front O2 sensor
- Replace motor mounts
- Inspect clutch pedal assembly for flex / weld breaks
~$900 USD in parts if you shop smartly.
At 100k, anything original in the cooling system is really suspect and failure prone. It represents the biggest threat to your engine.
