Hey how are we all?

Im Mitch from Australia, long time lurker finally joined up. I've been reading and soaking up all the knowledge you guys have to offer (Which is alot and many thanks!) for a year now. Towards the end of this year, i'll be looking into purchasing an 8 after having saved and fangirl'd over them for years now.

My question has to do with the series 1 and series 2. I want to buy a series two because i funnily enough prefer the look. I've been looking through ads recently, and in Australia i've seen alot of RX8's listed as series 2, they look like series 2 but the year they were manufactured in was 2008 (will supply a photo of an example). Is this just a typo on these sellers behalf, or is this an RX8 with a series 2 body but a series 1 engine. (Sorry if this is a stupid question).

2009 model year manufactured 2008 makes sense. They're just early in the production run.
It has an S2 engine, Mazda didn't mess around with half-generations.
