Just wanted to post in the new members section because I must follow the rules and suggestions, right? NOT
I like to like things everyone else doesn't, so the RX8 is a great car for me.
Right now the $200 car is being prepped into a racecar, and is looking good for an EV conversion, roadrace electric car, yep.
Will post more info later, just wanted to follow the recommendations.. Rx8 Stripped Down to Metal
Won't let me post anymore? Guess not, only able to create thread in New Member Forum?
OK, I will ask here then. I removed the door speakers and amp from this car, and am trying to use them for a Public Address system for my R/C Racetrack. I understand the amp is like 200 watts. I googled wiring info, and what I found seems ok, but I tried to wire up the amp and got no outputs. I am wondering if there is a turn-on wire I am missing. Same with the door amps, they don't work, there is a red wire that is a turn-on from what I gather, but I tried 12v and gnd to it, and no change. Just bin all this stuff? I hooked the speaker up directly, and it isn't so great, but more bass was nice. Maybe remove the other tweeter and mid range from it and just use it as bass directly?
Anyway got frustrated, about to throw the parts in the trash bin and move on,but throught I'd ask first on the forum. Thanks! Jack

I'm not sure if it applies here, but the relays on the door speakers frequently go bad.
