IAT and codes
Stuck with code P2096... I have just cleaned the MAF ( I've been told the IAT is built in to the MAF)? I pulled the air box to see if the filter is dirty ( Somewhat- but not horrible) However... where the air tunnel starts, I feel like it's NOT been sealed properly, the top of the "Tunnel",
where the air box is inserted, looks to have been bent and probably leaking air before the filter. Yeah I'm a newb, so If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Yeah don't worry about that gasket or anything before the MAF sensor. Anything after the MAF sensor is important though.
Can you get your fuel trims at idle ? Sounds like they're maxed out due to a vacuum leak

DTC P2096
Vacuum leak is my bet, as well.
Start the engine, let it come up to temperature. Check your MAF rate and LTFT at warm idle. An LTFT of +/- 8% is no big deal. Your MAF rate at warm idle should be 4.5 - 5.5 g/s.
If your MAF rate is less than 4.5 g/s, you probably have a vacuum leak (and your LTFT should be pretty high).

Just buy a cheap cigar and disconnect a vacuum line and puff the smoke in. Works for me to find vacuum leaks.
3.1 of what unit? Seems way too low for g/sec.
7.8 LTFT isn't terrible. What about STFT?
P0137 sounds like damage to the rear O2 sensor or its wiring. Maybe a blocked catalytic converter (which is bad news bears)

I replaced the downstream O2 last year after the clutch was replaced. If it's the Cat, what do you suggest? Any good aftermarkets that ain't $1,000,000?
I replaced the O2, Cat,and put a 12" glasspack on 96 cherokee, baby runs great, and pretty low muffle but lots of flow. Melissa wants to give the RX8 a lower purr,
but all the after market stuff is expensive and I don't know how to get the sound she's looking for. I'm a Chevy Guy, with a minor in Jeeps.. lol
