Hello, Just bought a 2006 rx-8 6 speed GT trim 127k miles what sounds like rod knock along with enough smoke to have the fire department called. Came with a 40-60k mile eBay 6 port engine, accessories and trans. Body has slight denting here and there to be expected rear bumper cracked paint form an insignificant fender bender. The pilot bearing was shot so the PO grinded it out I estimate 5g of material was removed. Will this be a problem for the rotational mass? If not I should be able to carve out a equal divot on the other side and be set?

$600, I think $2000 would be what the car would be worth in fully functional condition without the body damage. The spares likely have nominal value, at least as far as the sale goes, seller probably valued the same in the garage more than the parts.
