I just bought my first rotary Mazda there is an issue with the flasher box under the steering wheel it vibrates and buzzes when I turn the car off and the hazard lights stay on I just tried changing the multi function switch on the steering column because when the lights are on everything works perfectly when the lights are not on and when the car is on the hazard lights stay on any help please it looks like the flasher box was replaced

Sounds like you need a new flasher module, and to go over the wiring, make sure it's also properly connected. Also make sure it's the original flasher module and not some aftermarket thing someone added.

Also since you just got the car, did this not come up in test drive? Dows the previous owner have anything to say?

You don't hear it once it is started and when I turned it off to check the oil they jumped in and restarted it so I didn't have the chance I bought it from a private owner

I see. Hard to say much without being there with the car. You can try replacing the relay box. My headlight relay box did something similar years ago. I replaced the relay in it and all is well. Is your car right hand drive? The relay I'm talking about is under the glovebox in my left hand drive car.

Also if you haven't already, do read through the new owner articles at rx8help.com so you know how to evaluate and care for the car.
