I have a 2005 rx8 standard which starts goes into gear but has very little power to move forward or even reverse. I've beat my brain till I can think of anything else.

can the engine rev freely?
as dannobre mentioned, sounds like it could be a couple different things but we'll need more information on the vehicle.

when was the last time the vehicle drove correctly? Mileage? Any modifications?
