Howdy

Hello, I'm new to the forum!

I'm not an RX-8 owner, but I live vicariously through a buddy that has had one for several years. He's registered on here, too. He and I both rebuilt small block Chevy engines to drop in our muscle cars, back when we were much younger and skinnier. I had hair back then, too. I wonder if he'll see this post...

After reading RIWWP's New and Potential Owners START HERE thread (https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-f...t-here-202454/), I probably shouldn't get an RX-8; I'm not sure I can live the lifestyle. Ha ha! (And I still remember the dad of one of my kid's friends who got a new engine from Mazda when his 2004 RX-8 puked oil all over his garage floor within the first ~1k miles.)

I can certainly appreciate all of the time that folks have put into supporting each other here, though. I was an active member on a forum for a different vehicle many years. I even still host a smaller forum (that is kind of dead now) myself. I learned a lot over the years from reading forums and have hopefully helped others, too.

Anyway, nice to be here. I'll probably be lurking for quite a while, absorbing tons of info, maybe drop a comment here or there, and ramble on.

Regards,

-Joe

You can’t experience life by dipping a toe in the pool. Come on, you know you want to cannonball into the deep end. Go buy one.

Ha! I'd love to, but my wife "gets the next vehicle" and she sure the heck isn't picking an RX-8! And she wants a friggin' hot tub, too. But I don't. So I guess we're getting a hot tub. :-P

I was seriously thinking about a 2004 listed for sale that had an overheating issue and needed a front bumper. It supposedly had a rebuild by Pineapple Engines (?) that had 60k miles on it (sorry, not converting to kM for you <evil laugh>). But I figure I don't need that headache, even though I like a deal and like to fix things. And now it is no longer listed for sale. Whew, dodged that bullet!
