From reading many posts, one thing is for sure, there are many different opinions regarding specific procedures regarding the Rx. For example.....so many different opinions on how to properly shut the rx off. I got a headache reading all the different opinions. I'm guessing there are a multitude of opinions on how often to redline. At the risk of getting another headache, I am going to ask anyway 😀

 

Don't overthink it. Everyone has a special voodoo dance, but most of it is just superstition. A healthy RX8 runs like any other car, and preventative maintenance keeps it healthy. Like any other car.

I redline every chance I get, so daily at least. The car isnt that fast, so why not give it the beans?

 

Maybe once a day on the redline. Sometimes not at all. I just drive it like I do my RX-7's. I don't do any special shut off method, and I always allow the engine to warm up to normal operating temperature before shutting it off. I just stay on top of the maintenance like I do my 7's and I treat my cars with respect and they last a long time.

 

Basically, whenever condition allows.

Usually I'd do it when I am stopped at a highway stoplight, or when there is am open stretch.

On rainy days, of course I wouldn't bother.
