How do you use an Aux cord?

So I have a 2005 Mazda RX8 that I purchased about 4 months ago...

When I bought it, i noticed a wire in the glove box that looks like it connect into the radio. It looks like an aux cord basically.

What setting do I have to put the raido in and all that in order to use it?

If it doesn't work on the tape input, try all the others as well. If it still doesn't work, and you don't mind putting in work yourself, take a crack at this DIY. Probably the best one I've found...
