hi all, i am looking at buying an rx8 here in south africa (no earlier than a 2009), however i have a problem, there are no rotary specialists near me so when buying i cannot do a compression test. are there any alternatives that can be done to ensure a good engine?

 

The only way is with a real rotary compression tester.

You must have a proper rotary compression test for any RX-8 you consider buying. Without that test, you are taking a $5,000 risk (or more in SA). If you can't arrange it, find another car that tickles your fancy.
