Hey guys, Wondering what the fastest STOCK trim level is of the rx-8.
Pretty simple question I thought, until I looked into it. 2004 manual 0-60 is 5.7, 2009 R3 is 6.3 or 6.2 depending on the site you go to, so I was wondering, what for sure, no doubt, is the fastest trim level/year for the RX8.
Find a Sport MT that has the best compression engine with new ignition and new sensors, and no vacuum leaks and you will have found your answer.
Any other trim will add weight, and anything other than perfect health will kill power. Poor ignition alone can cut 14% of your power out, compression loss can do something similar. And the health of one RX-8 to another can vary so wildly that it is very nearly an impossible comparison.

9K is right...
But, if you are thinking of the track.. The sun roof hurts head room. And the leather seats are slippery. I lowered the power seat and installed a 4 point harness.
Althought, I can feel the difference in losing a couple of hundered pounds in the car when the instructor falls out...

Just wait. Mazda will release the next unicorn with a color of "Fastest Unicorn Mica", and deprive the next forum with decades of friendly debate.
(It will be white of course)
