Help please. 2009 r3 model 45000km

I'm freaking out my r3 model 2009 with 45000 was working fine and now it randomly started becoming jerky and loosing power and pull at around 7k the engine light started flashing now it's on solid. I've got a mazda speed intake that goes pretty low and the oil was over filled by about a half quart. Could it be maf related or is my cat clogged?

Have you checked the intake for oil? Also get the code read.

A flashing CEL is a misfire. If you have not replaced your coils, wires, and spark plugs by 45K, you need to do it now. You also need to have the cat inspected. If you have been suffering misfires, it may be failing, which in turn may damage the engine. These are all part of the cascading failure cycle that starts with bad coils.

If the oil was overfilled, you need to check the intake and throttle body for oil and clean it out if needed. You should also clean the MAF with contact cleaner.

Knowing the code that is causing the CEL would be helpful in troubleshooting as well.

Light flashing = misfire. I would check your coils, plugs, etc. I believe your plugs could also be fouled from overfilling your oil.

My 05 had a similar issue where my car would hit a wall at 7K RPM and then had a misfire. I changed my coils, wires, plugs and everything was fine after.

Oops totally missed the fact that it was flashing. Yes, absolutely a misfire.

Take the guesswork out of it and head to an advance auto. They'll plug in their code reader and tell you the code and what it is.
