Red face Help! I'm new to this.

Does anyone know what can be done to the extra bolts on my rx8? I would like to change my rims and I came across this.

Those are spacers...the OEM studs are the short ones that are barely sticking out

If the rims that you are switching to have the correct offset then take off the spacers

Only issue is it looks like they may have cut off the OEM studs..they look too short

Hey, thanks.
I understand what you mean and I just posted a better photo where I believe is the reason why the spacers are there in the first place which are my calipers. Would you suggest that I cut off the extra short bolts to accommodate my new rims which is 5 hole?

Those are stock calipers..they aren't an issue.

You may have had wheels that were the incorrect offset that required them...but they usually will not cause brake caliper issues...especially on the rear when the calipers are so small

Like I said..the spacers are for making wheels fit in/out direction

With the shortened OEM studs you might as well just trim them a bit more if your wheels will fit...otherwise you will need to replace all the wheel studs

Do you think the spacers would be easy to remove?

Just grab a lug wrench and remove the 5 lug nuts you see on the short lug studs. no complication about it

Those original studs look shortened. That's a bummer. What rims are you trying to install? What specs are they (width/offset)? May be better off just leaving he spacers on there.

How long the stud length should be though?

The fact that you needed to ask what the spacers were means you should think about taking it to a shop. If you have a friendly shop that you know of bring it to them and they can help you. They may even walk you through the process. You may have to buy new lugs if the old ones are chopped

I'm not trying to be mean so don't take it that way. The reason I say this is to help and the shop can show you better the I can explain.

Good luck and i wish you the best

You do sound a bit mean. But I am not offended because I am from Trinidad which is in the Caribbean and there aren't any rotary shops here. So I don't have many options besides trying to do it myself and without paying tons of money. I knew that they were spacers but I posted to see if I had possible replies to see if there was something that could easily be done.
Thanks for your comment though. I have decided to purchase the 7th gen rims instead.

This isn't specific to rotary cars. If you take it to any wheel//tire/brake shop (any shop really) they will be able to help you immensely more than anyone over the internet.
