Help. Car will not start

Hi everyone,

I have attached a link to a video. please view it... any help would be greatly appreciated. i really have no idea what is wrong with the car. i got it back from the shop 2 weeks ago and now its not working again...

okay so, for some unexplained reason my car just won't start...
I read the DTC codes; (check engine light codes), and i got three codes.

P0139 - O2 Sensor circuit slow response bank 1, sensor 2

P0172 - System too rich bank 1

P2096 - Target A/F feedback system too lean ON 2 Fuel system

I cleaned the MAF/IAT and the O2 sensors. and i also replaced my plugs while I was at it. I tried to jump start my car, but no luck. car just won't even start. it doesn't even look like it is trying to start up...

More info would be helpful. Year, Manual/AT, Mileage, mods etc.
But offhand, sounds like coils/wires or possibly fuel pump.

Do the 20 brake stomp thing and see if that makes a difference.

I would check out the Front O2 sensor...

How did you clean it? Most things you could spray on an O2 sensor would screw it up..not clean it

Your car has issues but none of that should keep it from starting since it's in open loop.

Your starter isn't spinning, and it's acting like everything works up until the starter relay clicks on. Jump start your car and see what happens.

You should try searching, it's been covered many times.
Turn the key on, press the pedal quickly 20 times within 8 seconds.
Most will have the oil gage needle sweep for confirmation, my '04 doesn't.

From the video, your battery is really really dead. Put a volt meter on it while you turn it on. A really screwed battery will suck the life out of whatever you are trying to jump it with. Haul the battery down to a parts store for them to test. They will likely have to charge it first, then test it.

Good luck, and welcome.

Thank you!!!

(I'm only writing back with all this detail just in case anyone else experiences the same issue)

but anyways, you were right. I thought it was the O2 and MAF sensors at first, so i cleaned them, and then i thought that i just needed to jump start the car, and then i thought it was the starter, so i replaced it, and then i thought the engine was seized but i was able to verify that it wasn't seized by turning the engine over by hand (the engine rotates counterclockwise, i used a ratchet and started it turning it from the main pulley). i bought a new battery (Optima Red 35 for $228) and now the car starts perfectly fine and i was able to clear out the other codes as well by simply cleaning the O2 and MAF sensors. the car starts soooooo much better now! it doesn't even hesitate to start up anymore.

Glad it helped.

Remember that sound. If you ever have to jump a car that makes that sound, just leave it hooked up to a running car for 10 minutes or so before you try.

And, welcome.
