Angry HELP! can't shift into any gears when engine is on :(

hi everyone,

I pressed my clutch pedal and i heard something snapped while i was driving.
luckily i just turned into my street. As soon as i was in a complete stop, i tried to shift into reverse but it wouldn't allow me, the gears were very stiff.
i can shift gears when the engine is not on! But when it's on, it wouldn't allow me.
i have checked my clutch pedal and i noticed the brace is snapped."
but how does this affect changing into gears when the engine is running? or is it a different issue why it's not shifting into any gears?

please help

Welcome,

you identified the problem. The clutch pedal snapped. Do not try to shift with the engine running.

There are replacement pedal assemblies from some of the vendors here. There was also a recall from Mazda. Your dealer may be able to help. I have not replaced one, so cannot advise on how hard it is to do it yourself.

Well, Alejandro, if you can't move your clutch, then you won't be able to put the car in gear. 04Green has put it quite succinctly. Don't try to force it while the engine is on.

UPDATE! 04Green,

I've called Mazda Australia and unfortunately the recall fir clutch pedal wasn't aware in australia.
I have asked them for the parts as well and they were, charging me $350 for a new clutch pedal.
i did some research and found on ebay for about $150 brand new. But i couldn't wait to get it shipped to my address.

So i bought a 2nd hand for $60! bargain!! I've installed my second hand clutch pedal and it work's perfectly now.

Thanks for your help.

I've never seen anything about the pedal bracket failure. It makes me wonder if Mazda was just being Mazda about this.

Mine broke about 5 years ago . I had run with a HD clutch for a while though . Surprisingly I don't hear much about other breakages with RHD models.
