Heavy vibration at idle, Rough

Hello, I have not read anything that is quite like mine, but here it is.
When revving or driving the car acts normal, no loss of power or anything, but when idling at a stop light it the rpms seem to bounce up and down, and on the lower part of the rpms it vibrates a lot. You can see it in the shift ****. It only happens when it gets in the low rpms like 800-. It also only happens when warm. The car starts cold and warm fine. No other problems with it. Is this normal? I was thinking it was motor mounts, but before I pull the trigger on the mounts I want to make sure thats what it is.
2005 Rx8 6spd 101k mi
Thanks!

Yeah, sounds like motor mounts to me.

Alright! Thanks! I just want to make sure. Is this a pressing issue. I am going to get the urethane mounts, but is it something I need to do promptly?

It's not really critical. It shouldn't be ignored forever, since the extra vibration will eventually start weakening other components that weren't designed to be shaken a lot, but it isn't immediately harmful.

Mazda has an updated engine mount that I have found helps with the vibration. Its usually more pronounced in higher-mileage automatic cars but I have seen 6 speeds do it too. I would suggest getting them from Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda.

My solution was a screen before the MAF. I have an AEM intake and didn't have the screen in there.

The AEM intake should come with a screen. I have noticed rough idle issues in some cars without one.

It came used so it didn't. just made one. Still slightly rough because of the larger holes than stock/MS. but it doesn't shake, just a little rough..

I'll add this, had same problem, replaced everything could think of. Problem was simple. Mine 2007, was rough at stops, with air on, turned out, the dealership over pressured the Freon in the system, which the compressor caused too much load at idle, plus battery seemed fine, but a new one rated at 650 instead of the 550 Madza recommend fixed everything. Car starts at the slightest touch, and runs smoother than before. As I was taught, check the simple before the major

happened to,me

It is,bad motor, mounts. Before I had my mounts replaced tho, I replaced the coils, wires, plugs, cleaned maf, cleaned ess, changed cat, changed air filter and there was no more vibration at all. Changed the mounts for good measure tho but you may think your not loosing power but when your car is shaky at idle you will be surprised how much smoother and faster, new, plugs and coils will make her.
