Headlight Replacement?

Hi, so I watched a YouTube tutorial on how to replace the headlights in my 2005 Mazda RX8, and my (not very mechanical) dad and I went to work on replacing the original bulbs with 10,000K HID bulbs that I made SURE fit online. And then we got everything unattached and the headlight that was currently in the car had a completely different end attachment than the ones I had bought, and the ones I had seen people remove and install in videos...
The headlights I purchased (and that I have seen in videos of people with the same car) have a connecting end that is round with a piece in the center. The headlights that are actually IN my car have an end that resembles a wall socket in a house. 2 prongs for a male end, and 2 openings for the female... Does anyone know why this is, and if I can replace it?

Did your car have HIDs from the factory and you're just changing the bulb, or it didn't and you're adding HIDs? Because in the second case, you're going to be missing a few things... ballasts being the first.

There are two types of headlights depending on the model. HID or Halogen. The bulbs and headlight assemblies are very different

And 10000k bulbs are ridiculous.
