Grinding sound certain rpms

Sounds like grinding at certain RPM when accelerating. In first and second it happens from 6-6500 and 2nd 6500-8000 rpm 3rd it happens around 4-5500. The sound sounds like it is coming from the middle area from the dash to the stereo from the engine bay when driving. If I have it in Neutral it does not do this at any of these rpm.

Is it only when you shift? If it doesn't do it when you're in neutral, sounds like you've got yourself a transmission issue. maybe synchros? Provide as much information as you can. I'd do some searching on the forum. It's easier to find threads by going to google and typing "site:rx8club.com <whatever you wanna search" as opposed to using the search bar at the top.

No it is not when I shift. It is when I accelerate after already being in gear... Basically If i put it in gear and floor it the sound occurs at those rpms.

Miac

MIAC? I am using 91 octane shell up here in colorado. I guess I could try some octane booster and see if it goes away. If not what else would cause the MIAC?

Thanks

It sounds more directed in front of me or behind the cd player area.

Guys it is really difficult to get the sound on my phone. I looked around and found a similar video here https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tec...fixed-172684/#

The difference is that mine only happens in gear at around 6-7k rpm. sometimes in 5k rpm range in other gears. The sound is just like in the video posted above. I am gonna try some fuel system cleaner to see if that helps..
