Greetings

Is this the main forum for Rx8 owners? Is there a more active source I don’t know about?

Welcome to the forum! This is the main forum as far as I'm aware of. Ive bren an RX-8 owner since they were new and I've been here since 2008. Great place full of a ton of knowledgeable people and a ton of tech tips. The issue is that the car has had a bad reputation for weak engines and common issues along the line. Due to this, non enthusiast owners tend to drift away and the owners that have hung around that can offer solid advice from ownership experiences, remain the foundation of the group.

That’s good to know there are loyal owners. Thanks for the welcome.

There are still a fair amount of us that have been here awhile that still love the RX-8. I've owned RX-7's since the 90's and still own 4. I have 3 RX-8's as well. Nothing is perfect, you just have to roll with what's not and maintain the car and typically they will last a long time. I fell in love with the RX-8 the first time I drive one. I remember the test drive at the dealer and I remember the feeling of driving the car when it was new. It drew a lot of attention and was an absolute blast. I took pictures of the car all the time with my digital camera and was very proud of the car:

.

I unfortunately had to sell the car when it had 39k miles on it to buy the house I live in now. I needed a down payment and in 2012, I sold it. A couple years later I went on a hunt and bought a similar car, which I still have and have had since 2015.

Im also restoring an 04 Nordic Green RX-8 6spd:

All in all, this is a great place and it's still my go to place any time I run into anything that I haven't yet seen.

Thank you very much! The interior was always very nice in that car. I was sad to get rid of it, but I had no choice, as a house was more important. The interior in my current Brilliant Black RX-8 is identical, save for being a little more worn. Still presents very nicely though. Hoping to have it out of storage within the next couple of months.
