Not sure how this became a "Defend your RX-8 vs other cars" thread...
But both are great looking sports cars.
Have always loved E46 M3s and the S2K.
Come to think of it, I love almost all of the rx-8 direct and not so direct competitors.
Okay, maybe not the Crossfire (biggest reason I'll never get strakes), but still!
I don't get why people, no matter if it's RX-8 owners, RSX Type-S owners, Civic Si owners... etc, the moment they got their car, they write off most if not all of the competition and declare them POS?
Maybe I'm just weird, but I appreciate all well-built vehicles no matter the class, economy, luxury, sports, etc...

i agree with the above statement. there are some beautifully engineered automobiles on the road. some that i would love to own. its hard for me to deviate from an RX-7 or 8 due to the fact that i've always had a rotary powered vehicle. i got my first RX-7 before i even had a driver's license. but i really respect the other cars for what they are. BMW is a timless car manufacturer and pumps out world class vehicles. they're just not all for me. of course i'd love to have an M-1, lol.
either way, i dont think that we need to defend our 8. but when the original poster says "We were old rx8 owners but have now moved on" it may rub some die hard 8 owners the wrong way.
