MI free car no compression

I am looking for a car.
there are some cars around here for sale with low compression test.

2004, 2005 with over 120,000 miles

if the guy was to give you the car for free would it be worth it?

if yes then what would you pay ?

Well. Do you have a minimum of $3500.00 to rebuild it? And aside form the engine, what else is wrong with it?

There are some 8’s around here with low compression they are ask $2-3,000.
If the engine is not running I cant check the trans and AC.
Why does the engine have low compression?
If I do an engine swap, I am going to pay for labor, new clutch, water pump, hoses, ect.
The swap could cost me $5-6,000 but then I would have a new engine.

Do I buy the older high miles car with ok compression or pay $2,000 for a project with unknowns?

I am kind of burned out on buying project cars right now …

Project or high miles ?

Let your wallet (and bank balance) be your guide. High-mile cars might cost you nearly as much as the project. Many will be drawing close to end-of-life for the engine and, as they will be out of warranty, you will still be looking at a new engine sooner or later. All in all, if you are on a tight budget, you might be better to save for a while and give yourself a broader selection to choose from.

ppl are funny these days

all they cared is the engine ------ they make it sound like engine is the only thing that the car needs and nothing else breaks/worn out

just to keep u some idea, all bushings, bearings will run over thousands of dollars.

buying a car that does not even run is ALWAYS a project, and it WILL cost u more than buying 1 that's running and stuff.
