Footwell lighting power supply?

I have an led footwell lighting system, I tried wiring it through the ash tray light, didn't work. I tried using the accessorie slot in the fuse box it didn't work. What should I try next? Note I attached the light to the battery to make sure it was working, it is.

Why not just go in parallel with the glove compartment light? It's always on when the lights are on.

The ash tray light is a much smaller light and a different voltage for whatever reason.

I tapped my footwell lights on the parking lights wire. That way the footwell lights can be turned on during the day too if you please. The wire runs along the driver side door track that can be pulled up pretty easily. I'm sure there's information on how you can find this wire on the forums somewhere.

^That's the exact same as doing it through the glove compartment light. It comes on with the park lights.
