HAPPY FRIDAY 13th

Picked up my RX8 this afternoon. Came home and decided to take for test run with family out for ice cream at Huia.

After spending a very long time in traffic we got to the nice windy roads ...........ummmmmm fun. Handled well on corners but the bumpy roads cause the wheels to hit the wheel arch every now and then.
(could be because I had kids in back)

Got some 9000 rpm in on the trip. Enjoyed our ice ream looking out over they bay.

Came home but we wanted more driving.

On to the motorway to Bombay's and out a bit further. Finally got into 6th gear. Turned around and came home.
Some knucklehead in far lane just not moving over, finally did, short time later looked in review mirror and some cop was in hurry so pulled over to let him pass but he didn't in fact, he wanted me to pull over .........

sorry new car getting used to it so no I don't ......... "132 km/hr" by this stage my wife's out of the car thanking him for giving her reason to do more over time.

As Ive never had a speeding ticket in my life I had no idea of cost.

$300 plus 40 demerit points . Wife not impressed

But as an optimist I'm glad it happened and on first day.
It is very quick and it moves before you know what speed you are doing.

Yeah, most cops in most countries are funny like that. Glad your enjoying your new ride. Learn to balance that right foot or your cost of ownership is going sky rocket.

First speeding ticket ever in 30 years of driving .... yet the first day of owning a RX8

hahaha thats awesome!! ive noticed that on my 8 as well, before i can even look at my speedometer im already speeding. but i also love how quick the car is.

I was on 95 points the day I bought my 8 . So a radar detector went in for the drive home - they work !

I had a safe drivers certificate because of no tickets for 5 yrs, before I bought the RX8. While daily driving the car, I was getting a couple a year. One time I actually had to do some legal moves to keep my DL. Now that I'm DD a Jeep, no tickets again.

Tell me about it, my radar detector is on all the time...

This car is a cop magnet and more so with a loud exhaust, I've had about 8 tickets in 2 years... Four of them were total BS, but meh I'm not phased anymore. Take it to court, and pay your speeding tax. Thankfully I've gotten away with no points on my license.
