Not really a new member but I figure this is the place to ask.

I found an online vendor that I think might be useful for us, but they're not a sponsor, nor are they likely to be. Would it be okay to drop an FYI thread? If so, is there a specific subforum I should use?

 

I think it's fine. I think we all recommended products we have used and found useful at some point.

 

Recommending products in conversation is fine. Plugging threads to promote them is not.
