Hey Guys


I was wondering about my Rx8 its A 04 gt 6speed, anyways this started to happen last year Near the fall or winter Season it revs high during cold starts and gradually drops over time (normal) but recently at the odd time it would rev high then the rpm would start to bounce around between 3000 rpm and lower and engine sound and exhaust sounds like it getting choked ? just wondering if anyone has came up with the same problem or solved the reason why it doing that?

Was it randomly jumping around? or would you say that it moved between two specific RPM points consistently?

Sorry about that my cell sent the reply prematurely But it jumps nothing higher then 2500 rpms but i posted the thing on youtube on the url i sent

 

 

In the video we can't really see the RPMS..
if this only happens after a cold start then its pretty normal.
It should stabilize after 30 seconds or so unless, you engage the clutch then it will bounce around until it warms up.

 

the bearing on my alternator is going thats the ringing sound also when i lift my hood sucks but its a new after market alternator i bought in june '14 im third owner of my r8

 

yes it does stop after awhile and it does stabilize when i press on to the clutch but when i depressed the clutch it will start jumping again until it idles normally i was just curious if it should be doing this or not

how do you guys add the mods too your comments ?

 

I guess, when you start the car cold let her warm up dont engage the clutch.

For Mods list, if i remember correctly; on top right corner you'll see your name with an arrow, click on the arrow select profile from drop down and edit the signature. you can list all your mods in the signature.

 

Ok, that is the "Between specific RPM points" as i asked in my first post.

If it ONLY does this when extremely cold, but stops as the car warms up, it's normal.

If it does this all the time, your neutral switch has failed, or your neutral switch wiring has a problem, or your clutch pedal position switch has a problem.
