Sure, Your Ridgeline is a super-cool truck. But I can get 8 foot 2x4 lumber in my RX-8 with all the doors and windows closed. I'm not sure the Honda pick-up has that capability. Cheers!

Hey!

I thought you were one of us who loves an under powered, gas guzzling, noisy yet fun machine? At least you didn’t bring up the fact your truck can probably win in a drag race as well.

I’m at about 15.8 mpg right now. Still waiting for Charles to send my very recently ordered coils to replace the tired ones. Then I can rave about butt dyno results and get flamed.

Thanks to the pass-thru center rear window it does. Also have a topper on the rear. It’s been an excellent tow vehicle for my RX8 in a lightweight enclosed trailer; most of those miles have been towing near the max weight limit all over the country.

Which I was living in Reno, NV for a large part of that mileage, crossing over the Nevada Sierra mountain range often. It probably gets better mileage towing my RX8 rather than driving it instead. Compared to other trucks with larger engines the mpg is actually rather poor, but reliability has been exceptional with few repairs beyond wear and tear.

don’t let meat ***** comment deceive you; my love for the RX8 is well founded, but I’m realistic about some of it’s faults as well as find mpg total mileage threads on it to be mildly amusing.

09. Average 225 or so in city per tank. Easily 300 on highway. So about 15-16 city, 20-22 highway

I've tracked my mileage for the entire ownership of my car since I bought it in the summer of 2012 with 20 miles on it.
https://www.fuelly.com/car/mazda/rx-...iomatik/136515
I've averaged 18.5 mpg with my old commute of 50 miles each way, mostly highway/country rouads. However, in the spring I changed jobs, and now my commute is only 8 miles each way, all highway. It's only 11 minutes door-to-door, and my mileage dropped to about 16.5 mpg.
Additionally, I seem to get about 7.5 mpg on the track.

I'm averaging about 15 mpg in mine. I redline pretty much every 1st to 2nd gear change though

And yes, I do redline my RX-8 on a regular basis, once every other drive, and it sees combined use and even idling in traffic! This is all included with my regular fill-up calcualtions!

My average gas mileage was with normal driving not seeking a minimal consumption.

All freeway driving and redline often. I am currently getting 16 mpg running the current setup: Versatune, Racing beat resonated midpipe, Racing Beat Exhaust muffler, AEM CAI, Radiator Fan mod. My reaction going from my commuter 4 banger crossover suv to the rx8.....

Why should one care?…

come on fellas – this is a race car. It’s not mommy‘s Sunday driver. I’ve always treated this machine as an aircraft engine for the sake. It really is. And I know how to maintain an aircraft engine because I’ve been maintaining and flying aircraft for the past 30 years. my 04 RX eight I’ve got 97,000 miles on her. I It’s all stock and she runs like a raped ape. Oh yeah, change your oil every 3000 and don’t use synthetic. This engine needs zinc! Later – Sparky 56.

ROFL. Yeah... Yeah. I've managed to put about 200 miles on mine so far and it's doing surprisingly decent on fuel. Around 20 and all my driving has been highway, a significant part of it at high RPM going up and down a nearby mountain road.
