FL CPU Flash

08 RX8 Renesis, I’ve got my engine rebuilt, ported intake and exhaust, air pump delete, sohn adapter and got a D585 coil swap kit. Is it wise to send my pcm to get a flash to upgrade the dwell settings, idle and pump delete? It seems my pcm keeps searching for the air pump, CEL lights for vacuum leaks, I’ve checked every hose and intake gasket and smoke tested NO LEAKS, WTH. Threw codes for CPS but replaced it, now. As it sits now, killed my new battery, alternator checks out fine, starter cranks right up, Runs fine one day and the next like crap and throw codes only after I shut it off. Alarm tripps for no reason or no rime. I think I bought a possessed car.... Any good advice is appreciated!!!!!

Sounds like you need a new battery. 640 CCA. The alarm randomly going off is associated with a bad battery or battery connection.

What codes is it throwing exactly? There isn't a vacuum leak code, but there are codes that could have one as a possible cause.
Did you remove the cat as well?

Not sure about sending the ECU out, most tuning on these cars is done with it in the car using VersaTune or MazdaEdit (or Cobb AccessPort if you can find an unmarried one and the tuning software).

Alarm problems could the hood sensor having been damaged/displaced during the engine work. Otherwise sounds like electrical problems. What exactly to do you mean by 'killed your new battery'? Drained it? Does it hold a charge?

Also what does the rebuilder/installer have to say about this? Do they provide some kind of warranty on their work?

NEW battery as I posted, l also grounded everything with 6 awg so electrician is in good shape. It ran good after I did that but when back to throwing CEL codes. I dawned the cat and did a light check it’s good. New mapf sensor, everything is new except the starter and alternator on this demon car...😔

I parked it for a week, my battery is less than a month old. I figured it may be the starter, but l didn’t check for para draw from on the battery. Has anyone had a racing beat pcm flash?

Shouldn't be the ECU flash. I would do a parasitic draw test...likely have a stuck relay or something. Make sure you charge the battery up...they don't like being fully drained
