Coolant boiling...how does it look like?

Coolant boiling...how does it look like?

I been hearing about coolant boiling on RX8's...maybe im getting paranoid but coolant reservoir have these water droplets inside like these after a run.

But this is normal right?

I mean, if you are really worried, you can hook up a Bluetooth OBD2 reader to find out what you ECT is.

If your coolant were actually boiling it would escape through the overflow tube.

The cap is a relief valve set to ~13 psi. If the coolant actually boils, it will overpressure the system and the cap will relieve the pressure and you'll get coolant spewing out that tube.

If that isn't happening then you're fine. The appearance of the air separator tank is meaningless.

But, your tank looks a lot like mine. I would not worry about how it looks. But, I would get a way to monitor temps. I really like the ultragauge.
