Confused

Hello! So let me get right to it. My S2 Rx8 gave me a check engine light a couple days ago. I've tried scanning it with 2 different scanners but I cant look into the engine codes. Theres no option for it or it says no communication. I got 3 Restraint codes. 2 for airbags and 1 says ECU failure or something like that. The car runs and drives great so I have no idea what to think. Is my ECU fried? If so how is the car running so good still?

Might just be the obd2 connection you are plugging into. For instance I can write to my stock ecu for tuning perfectly fine, but I have to jiggly the connection for it to read obd2. Honestly haven't really looked into it all that much, since I planned to buy another rx8 at some point anyways.

Well not sure what is happening with mine but I pulled this wiring diagram from another thread.
First pic is the obd2 port
Second is the corresponding connection on the pcm
